Building the Frame
The
building of the frame begins with a timber list that is compiled and sent to the
saw mill. If the frame is going to
be rough sawn, a circular saw may be used to give the timbers a more rustic
look. If a frame is going to be
planed, a band saw mill would be used. Another
consideration is the harvesting of trees. Trees
harvested in the winter, for example, have a lower moister content than those
harvested in the summer.
Once
the timbers are delivered, they can be cut in our shop.

Each timber is carefully inspected, layed-out, cut, and
preassembled.

Once the timbers are fit, they are labeled, the peg holes are
drilled,

and
the timber is prepared for delivery to any destination
